Adult Craft Night - Nature Art Prints
Discover the art of nature! Join us on Thursday, August 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for a relaxing, hands-on printmaking craft night where you'll gather natural materials and create a one-of-a-kind botanical print. No experience needed. All supplies are provided. Your nature arrangement won't be glued down; instead, we'll photograph your finished design so you can take home a keepsake of your unique creation. Learn To Sail Class
If you have ever longed to be the master of your own ship, then we have an opportunity for you. Akron Fossils and Science Center will offer a Learn-to-Sail class. This class is designed for beginners who would like to learn the basics of sailing. All ages (7 & up) and experience levels welcome. Cost is $70 and will include two on-land classes at AFSC, Tuesdays, June 2nd and June 9th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and one on-water class tentatively scheduled on June 16th at Mohican Sailing Club at 5pm, weather permitting. Spring Cleaning Volunteer Days
Help us get AFSC ready for the summer season! We’re hosting two volunteer days on Wednesday, May 6th, and Wednesday, May 13th, from 9am to 3pm to spruce up the adventure park. This is an open-house style event. You do not have to stay the whole day and are welcome to stop by any time to help. We’re grateful for any time you’re able to give!
Volunteers will assist with general clean-up, light maintenance, painting, yard work, mulching, and more. Feel free to bring your own tools, and please bring gloves if you have them.
Pizza, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’d like to volunteer, please complete the sign-up form below so we can plan for the number of participants each day. We truly appreciate your time and commitment. Your support means a great deal to us.

Creation Speaks
Our next Creation Speaks presentation will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 7pm at Hametown Baptist Church and Christian Academy. Join Scott Weckerly and the CEM for a stunning visual journey through the furthest reaches of our universe. It’s time once again for Akron Fossils & Science Center’s annual Silent Auction Fundraiser and Carnival! This year’s ONLINE silent auction will start on Saturday, September 27th, and run through October 3rd. Like last year, the fundraiser will be a hybrid event. Beginning September 27th, supporters can bid for incredible baskets and items online, all week long through Friday, October 3rd. Then, on Saturday, October 4th, join us in person for a kid-style carnival filled with food, games, prizes, a raffle, and fun activities the whole family can enjoy!
