Our annual Fall fundraiser features an online silent auction along with a live, in-person carnival. There’s something for everybody!

Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering before of after our Silent Auction and Carnival event, please fill out the form below.
Carnival | October 4, 12pm-5pm
Saturday, October 4th, we are hosting an IN-PERSON open house and carnival at Akron Fossils & Science Center! Stop in any time from 12pm-5pm to participate in all the exciting activities going on throughout the day. Pick up your silent auction winnings and bring the whole family to join in the fun.
Tickets will be required to play games and participate in activities. We’ll have:
Carnival Games: Ballon Darts, Ring Toss, Plinko, Fish Bowl Bounce, Bottle Pick-Up, Frog Bounce, Ping Pong Toss, Duck Pond, Spin-To-Win and more!
Prizes: Each participant will receive a stamp passport to turn in for prizes.
Activities: Face painting, crafts, and more.
Concessions: Hot dogs, pizza, nachos, popcorn, cotton candy, soda, hot chocolate, and Krispy Kreme donuts.
Raffles: Ticket raffles and a Heads and Tails raffle
*The science center will be closed for regular tours. Admission to the carnival is FREE! Tickets for game, activities, crafts, and concessions can be purchased at the science center upon arrival.
Schedule of Events
Carnival Games, Activities, & Concessions | 12pm-5pm
Join us for a full day of fun! There will be carnival games, face painting, bead crafts, photo booths, balloon animals, concessions, and more!
Animal Show with Outback Sky! | 12:30-1:30 pm
We will have a live animal encounter featuring Outback Sky of Outback Ray’s Amazing Animal Adventures!
Heads or Tails Raffle | 1:30pm
Do you want to play a silly game of Heads or Tails? Must be present to play and win.
Animal Feature: Creepy Crawlies | 2:30pm
We will have an animal encounter featuring some of our fluffy, furry, and cuddly animal friends here at the center.
Raffle Drawings | 3:30pm
Purchase raffle tickets online or in-person all day for our many raffle baskets and items. The drawing will take place at AFSC and you do not need to be present to win.
